    Modern Author Accelerator

Do you love to write? Do you have a story to tell? Is your dream to write a book but you aren’t sure that you have what it takes? Then, this is the perfect course for a first-time author like yourself.

Professor Koester combines specific principles, timelines, and approaches to create a structured program with editorial coaching, creating a clear path for you to produce your own book. So far, more than 2,500 authors created and published their first books under Professor Eric Koester’s wing, through the Modern Author Accelerator program.

    – Get started

We don’t launch Books; we launch Authors

The Modern Author Accelerator program is designed to help aspiring authors write a book from scratch, publish their work, promote, and market it. This program provides an effective way for nonfiction, fiction, memoir, and poetry authors to develop, create and launch their book in under a year. Our program historically only accepts 10% of individuals who express interest in the Accelerator (based on the author’s goals and the uniqueness of their concept). The program is uniquely tailored to individuals who want to leverage a book for thought leaders, executives, coaches, speakers, professors, consultants and business owners to turn your book into a platform to elevate your profile and unlock additional opportunities for speaking, coaching, consulting, training, business development and more.

You will work with Manuscripts Press publishing house and learn how to produce and promote your work, as well as build a robust audience early on, in the production process.

    No idea?
    No problem.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a clear idea in mind for the topic of your project!

About 90% of creators do NOT have a firm idea for their topic at the very beginning. That is why you will receive a questionnaire to fill in before the call with Professor Koester, to help you identify or solidify your book topic and give the professor some background information on you that will help identify the topic for your project during the call.

    – Course outline

    Program Details

This program lasts for 11-14 months (6-7 months to create your first draft manuscript followed by 6-7 months of audience building and publishing work).

Our authors tell us they invest approximately 5-6 hours per week, including a weekly one-on-one session with their editors, coaches, or marketing specialists.

Most participants launch their book and package it up with combined offerings such as speaking, workshops, trainings, courses, masterminds, and knowledge products.

Our typical author reports an ROI on the book within a year, and most see a 6-10x return over time through offerings beyond book sales. More than 95% of authors earn Best Seller book status in their Amazon category.

On average, first draft lengths are about 32,000 to 40,000 words (120-150 pages, double spaced), while the final books have about 36,000 to 50,000 words (192- to ~260-page book).

Each week, authors spend five to six hours as their “book hours” to work one-on-one with their professional editors and coaches, in weekly activities and session (this includes watching pre-recorded lectures, engaging in coached activities, and monthly group discussions).

Our Award-winning Modern Author Accelerator program provided a blend of a community of peer authors AND one-one-on-one weekly coaching, editing, and marketing support to provide accountability and exceptional outcomes. Only 10% of individuals interested in the program are accepted, and each applicant will go through a review process to determine the uniqueness of the author’s category (to help ensure their book can define a new category).

Authors who have a complete draft manuscript may be admitted to our award-winning publishing programs. Historically, acceptance rates vary, but upon a full editorial review we will invite you to leverage our publishing program: Our 2022-2025 Acceptance rates — nonfiction (14-16%) and fiction/memoir (8-9%).

On a highly selective basis, Eric will collaborate one-on-one with authors in need of greater individual coaching and feedback. This program is NOT recommended for 99% of individuals, but for an author with a specific need for individualized support, guidance, editorial, and potentially aspects of selected ghostwriting, Professor Koester will work individually. Feel free to reach out for a quote on my individual book coaching programs: rates will generally be $100,000 to $200,000.

    2

I have no experience with book writing. Is this program a good fit for me?

Previous experience is not necessary to enroll in this program. These are some of the key things we look for in authors:

    • Are you a creator/doer? (Do you have that entrepreneurial spark?)
    • Are you open to feedback, suggestions, and recommendations, i.e., coachable?
    • Is your aspiration to make a difference in the world?
    • Do you have the openness necessary to tell your story?
    3

How long does it take to write a book?

We’ve helped 2,500 first-time authors write, launch, and publish their books — and based on those learnings, our typical author will complete a publishable draft in under six months and publish their book in 11-14 months after beginning. You should plan to invest 5-6 hours per week into the program, including your weekly one-on-one coaching sessions.
